Analysis and monitoring of legionella
Microlife Lab is aimed at RSA, hotels, condominiums, private homes (also for air conditioners) and public buildings, but also public gardens and industries for the control and monitoring of the legionella bacterium. The analysis and control are not only a mandatory requirement from a legal point of view with respect to the regulations and guidelines in this regard, but also a way to protect the safety of those who frequent private and public facilities, especially if they operate in the tourism-hospitality sector.

How the analysis is carried out
The analysis of Legionella pneumophila on an aqueous matrix is carried out by microfiltration: the sample is filtered after being placed on a filter membrane and the system is started. If present, the microorganism remains attached to the membrane and transferred to a specific culture medium. After a 10-day incubation, the plate is read.
Typically, our specialized technicians take care of sampling, bringing the material directly to the laboratory, but it is possible to provide the sample using a sterile bottle. The timing and frequency with which to perform the analysis of water intended for human consumption are regulated and recommended by the Region.
